Dog in a hot car.

Written By: Jim russell - Jul• 19•13

Just heard this one on the local news. A man left his dog in his vehicle during a heatwave while he went into a store to shop for groceries. A woman who noticed the dog sitting in the car for a long period decided to remove the dog from the hot vehicle and sit in the shade with it. The police were called to report the dog abuse. The dogs owner was located and he promptly scolded the women for taking his dog and told her to mind her own business. Police informed the woman that she could be charged for breaking into the vehicle, and charged for theft of property for taking the dog. The dogs owner was not charged for anything, and after returning dog to vehicle he went back into the store to continue shopping. A spokesman for the ASPCA said ” If i saw such an event i would smash the vehicles window out and rescue the dog from this abuse. An animal control officer in a separate interview stated a person leaving an animal in a hot vehicle could be charged five hundred dollars for such an act. All i can say is that i never leave my dog in a sweltering hot vehicle, he is too valuable to me.
